Explore new approaches to technology-enhanced learning and innovative strategies for multimedia utilizing the variety of spaces in the InnovationSpace.
The classroom has flexible furniture and seating for up to 25 students or guests, one iMac Mini instructor station, and a Crestron controller for assigning inputs to the various displays in the classroom.
The room has three Sharp 60" wall-mounted HD displays, one touchscreen Smartboard display, and an HD projector that can each display inputs independently of each other as assigned by the Crestron controller. Inputs can be assigned from the following:
- Instructor Workstation
- HDMI Input (at Instructor Workstation)
- DisplayPort Input (at Instructor Workstation)
- 3x Wall Plate Inputs (one at each display with HDMI cables)
- AirPlay from Mac Devices
The classroom is used primarily for InnovationSpace programs and activities, but is also available to our partners that are engaged in our programs. We also make the space available to any faculty, staff, or organizations that are interested in doing advanced multimedia presentations and group work, or are interested in trying innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
Digital Multimedia Lab
The InnovationSpace lab currently features 25 Mac OSX workstations with software installed that caters to digital multimedia projects. Some of the software that we currently have available is as follows:
- Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite
- Final Cut Pro
- DVD Studio
- Autodesk Maya
- Sketchup Pro
- Blender 3D
- Unreal Game Development Engine
- Unity 3D Game Development Engine
- Autodesk Mudbox
The lab workstations are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis during our operating hours. Each computer has a drive that is available for you to save work on at the lab if you do not have a storage device with you to transport files. Access to the lab is allowed to the public for non-commercial uses.
Each bay is set up with a Mac OSX workstation that can also be booted into Windows using bootcamp. They also have Blue Yeti microphones as well as a few other pieces of audio equipment such as a usb audio mixer, cassett-to-cd converter, reel-to-reel player, record player, and a small midi keyboard. Software featured in the audio bays include:
- Camtasia Studio
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Microsoft Office (w/ Office Mix on Windows)
